Early Development Chicago

Chicago, one of the biggest cities in the United States developed early through it's great Site and situation factors. A situation factor is where a place is located in relative to other places that help it develop. Chicago  has had one of the best situation factors that helped lead to it's early development. Chicago is located right next to a harbor and lake. The harbor and lake enabled Chicago to be able to trade with other states and to get goods (exported on ships) that led to it's early development. Also Site factors, which are resources that are located near a place that helps it develop, are a part of Chicago's early development. Two of Chicago's greatest site factors were water and great soil. The soil enabled early settlers of Chicago to grow crops and food for them to eat. Without water you cant have crops. Lake Michigan just made chicago's Development better because there was a fresh source of water to drink and to use for growing crops.
